Haight Ashbury District

During my travels through California and Oregon, we stopped in San Francisco for a little under a week. Of course I had to visit all the best shopping spots, so it's no wonder I found myself running up and down the Haight street in the Haight Ashbury District, more than once ;). Haight Ashbury used to be known for it's mass hippie population and to tell you the truth, not much has changed, except property prices of course. The down-to-earth spirit of this district's inhabitants has defiantly stayed put. My favorite store that I discovered was a vintage store called Decades of Fashion.

ShopBop has some fab clothes this season. I was so entertained as I was browsing through all the categories that I chose to stay in one night and look at clothes instead of going to a club. Pretty pathetic, but very true. For your convenience, I picked some shoes that I consider to be the season's most fabulous from ShopBop. They are a little pricey, so save up. Totally worth it! Wouldn't you much rather shop for cute clothes than make rent this month? Yeah me too ;).

Velvet, Not So Underground.

That's right! Velvet is making its big comeback and is taking over the sidewalks, ladies. So get to your closest American Apparel store and get this gorgeous form flattering dress:

Left: Stretch Velvet Stirrup Legging / Right: Stretch Velvet Tank Thong.

As the model above is showing, wear the stirrup legging with a white shirt (hint at the Androgyny post earlier this month) and booties and you're good to go. Wear the tank thong with skinny jeans, men inspired oxford shoe, a white/creme blazer or bolero of some sort and you are ready to rock your sidewalk ;-)
