Music music MUSIC!

This weekend I attended an event called Lucent L'amour. It was a music extravaganza full of DubStep, art exhibits, and the loudest speakers I have ever heard.
I have been to many music festivals before but none of them could compare to this. Check the video out.

Feel the Bass

By: Vera Gushansky

sometimes i just feel like listening to raw dubstep. through some killer speakers, this song can put you through a harmonious trance.

La Roux - I'm not your toy (Nero Remix)

luckily, i have one of these:
harmon kardon
GO-PLAY

for music lovers out there, this is the accessory to have.
haven't heard bass come out of portable speakers, without subs, like these.
matter of fact, i haven't heard music keep such a crisp tune unless it was raging from a sound system.
go to you're nearest Apple Store.
test one out.

The Decision is Made

By: Vera Gushansky

couldn't decided between this year's Winter Music Conference in Miami or Coachella in Indio valley.
after seeing the final lineup for Coachella today
that's where im going to be.

Zadig et Voltaire Musique

by: Jade Jorda

To prove that fashion and music are in sync, the well-established brand Zadig et Voltaire has started to sell music exclusively online through their own website. The first of a series is Nightology by Playground, which has the similar indie-rock/electro sounds as Cut/Copy. To make that band even more special, the man behind the beats is Firouz Farman Farmaian, a descendant of the Kajar Dynasty that ruled Persia until the mid-Twenties. Well well, that ought to be royal. ;-)

available here.

Here's the music video of Nightology's "Maravillosa".

♫ Obsessed with: Phoenix ♪

By: Jade Jorda

These artsy French dudes know what's up in terms of Indie Rock. Their lead singer Laurent Brancowitz, before joining Phoenix, collaborated with two other guys that you might have heard of... Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. Doesn't ring a bell? How about Daft Punk? Yeah, now you know what I'm talking about ;-) They're new single 1901, from the 2009 album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, is being heard everywhere from a Cadillac TV commercial, to the New York I Love You trailer. Probably heard it blasting a couple of times from my car too. I LOVE IT! I am also obsessed with Lizstomania - Classixx Remix (thank you Jason!!!) that makes my heart flutter everytime I hear it.

Here's a little playlist to make you listen to what I'm talking about:

They also gave people a free concert with a concept they called "A Take Away Show". While strolling through the streets of beautiful Paris, they stopped at a few places and performed for the people around them for the simple pleasure of sharing their music. I love these guys. I wish I had been these people around, look at their faces they're pretty funny. A Take Away Show is in three parts. Watch them being followed around in the city of lights:

Part 1

Part 2
Part 3
And finally, here's some of their photography that they posted on their blog. I chose these because I thought they related well to the topic of music but there are plenty more that are really interesting.

These are great tunes to listen to when you're shopping for the holidays and waiting in the long lines. Enjoy! ;-)

AC Slater @ Avalon

by: Jade Jorda

As you've noticed, Strapless's primary concern is fashion. However, we feel its necessary to tell you about great events that will arise throughout the year! We're also major music fans and we wouldn't want you to miss out on the fun. And here's another one:

Madness is gonna go down again at the Avalon this upcoming friday and the least I can say is that I am super stoked!!
AC Slater
, a famed freeform DJs from New York will bring his east coast style to the our lovely west coast, pump up the already-super-pumped Avalon sound system and make your legs shake to the heavy bass he's about to drop. If you enjoyed Rusko two weeks ago (Vera made a post about him in early November), something tells me you're going to be delighted by this! Don't miss out!
Listen to these tracks:

Now, do you believe me when I say it's gonna be madness?!
Yeah, I'll see you electro lovers there ;-)

Electro Stylin'

By: Vera Gushansky

Electro parties are great for just about anything - Blaring music that bangs in your ears, even days after, meeting fellow electro music devotees, meeting your soul mate, and best of all, strutting your funkiest clothes. Throw on your edgiest bright colors, and dap on that sparkle because tonight, your going to kick your heels to ELECTRO. Check out these outfits below, which managed to keep their dashing look into the wee hours of the morning.

In these photos: Jade Jorda, Manon Hermann Auclair, Laure Bouys, Natalie Lebo, Teddy Grasset, Skye-Anne-Smith, Jon Antflick

Partying in sunglasses is the perfect way to cover up any inebriation written on your face. Your vintage jean shorts are also wonderful to dance in. Tie a hippie head band around your forehead and your fashionable look is complete! For men, a graphic tee with popping colors is always appropriate.

Thinking of partying a bit in the out door terrace? Well party-on with an erratic colored, plaid, button down! A slouchy tunic is always in style, and Jade keeps her slim form but adding a gold belt.

Jade, Manon and Laure are picture perfect. Jade elegantly pulls off a floral dress with an empire waist, topped with classy bow and ruby red lips.

Outdoor electric festivals:

Feel the urge to party and get dumb to electro? Tomorrow night at the Avalon in Hollywood, CA, Rusko will be performing! This party will be massive, so hurry up and listen to his music and fall in love with it! Do not miss out on this one ladies and gentlemen!
